I'm a multimedia journalist based in Kinshasa, covering the Democratic Republic of Congo.
For over three years, I was AFP's West Africa correspondent, where I reported on everything from election crackdowns in Guinea to Senegalese monks seeking the divine through kora music

I then became the agency's first English-language correspondent in the DRC, writing about illicit cobalt miningvoodoo wrestling and more, before going freelance in 2024.
Earlier in my career, I worked for Politico Europe in Brussels where I reported on food and agriculture.
I am HEFAT certified and have reported from the DRC, Guinea, Liberia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ghana and Tunisia, among other countries.
